About Arati Devasher
I am a freelance book designer based in London, UK with over 20 years of experience in the publishing industry. Being a bookworm, this is my ideal job.
In my free time, I paint on paper and silk. Being a foodie as well as a bookworm, I cannot help but draw food and food-related subjects all the time. I've turned them into prints available to purchase. Some originals are also occasionally made available.
Born and brought up in India, I moved almost annually with my Indian Army family. New Delhi became the first city in which I lived for any decent length of time, through my BFA in Applied Art at the College of Art in Delhi University and then the first decade of my design career. My husband and I moved to the United Kingdom in 2009 and have remained here since. London has become home.
What forms of payment do you accept?
All major credit cards are accepted. I can also take cash payments if you choose to collect your delivery from my studio. All payments are process through Shopify so payment information is never retained or viewed by me.
Complimentary gift-wrapping and gift receipts
If you would like your order gift-wrapped in special paper, or sent directly to another address with a gift receipt, please leave a note at checkout.
Where are my products made and shipped from?
All originals are handmade by me (Arati Devasher), and my art prints are printed in the UK. Everything is shipped from London, UK.
Do you offer framing?
At present, no, I don't. My prints fit in any standard frame larger than the size of the print... I suggest you go to your local framer, or an online company such as eframe.co.uk (not sponsored).

My products are usually printed to order (indicated on product pages as pre-order) within 5–7 working days. Items already in stock (quantity in stock indicated on product pages) will ship on the same day or next working day.
If your purchases are 'pre-ordered' this just means they are being printed/made and will ship within 7–10 working days; please let me know if you need your order sooner and I will do my best to speed up the process (email me at email@example.com).
Items will be shipped from London, UK, within 5–10 business days of payment being received, unless you have selected special or expedited delivery (when available).
Shipping costs vary depending on your country.
Just a friendly reminder that there is no such thing as 'free shipping'... It's a service that costs money. If you're getting free shipping, that means the shipper is paying for it. That's why a lot of us who have small one-woman (or man) businesses have a minimum spend to qualify for 'free' shipping. It's also why a lot of us can't offer free shipping across our entire range. I know most people who shop independent are lovely and totally understand this ♥️ I hope you do too.
- I offer free postage to UK mainland on orders over £20. Standard postal costs are from £8 to £15 for other countries.
- If you would like urgent shipping, please contact me. Orders within the greater London area could be organised as a pickup from my studio in west London.
- International orders (outside the UK) qualify for free shipping on orders over £100. International (non UK) orders can sometimes take up to 4 weeks to arrive. International buyers are responsible for any and all Customs Charges, Taxes & Additional Postal Fees.
Last dates for shipping before Christmas (I will update this each year):Royal Mail’s latest recommended posting dates for delivery in the UK are:
- UK Mainland standard delivery: order before 11am on December 18
- UK Mainland special delivery: order before 11am on December 23
- International standard delivery: order before 11am on December
- International priority delivery: order before 11am on December 18
Do note that we cannot be held responsible for customs delays in your country.
As a one-woman small business, I do not have a team to manage returns. Please contact me (Arati) directly at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will help you myself. Please do read the terms below so it's simpler to resolve the issue.
May I return my purchase?
If you do wish to return a purchase, the policy on ready-to-buy items lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately I can’t offer you a refund or exchange. All sales are subject to UK and EU law.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Please contact me to arrange a return so that I know it's coming back to me. You will be required to cover the cost of shipping and any customs fees for returns.
Several types of goods are exempt from being returned.
Made-to-order items are only returnable if there is no personalised text – dates or names – or imagery in the custom design. Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. I do not accept returns on products that are intimate (such as face masks, sleep masks etc.) or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.
Additional non-returnable items:
* Gift cards
* Downloadable software products
* Some health and personal care items
To complete your return, I require a receipt or proof of purchase.
There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted: (if applicable)
* Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
* Any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery
Refunds (if applicable)
Once your return is received and inspected, I will send you an email to notify you that I have received your returned item. I will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
Late or missing refunds (if applicable)
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact me again.
Sale items (if applicable)
Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded.
Exchanges (if applicable)
I only replace items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for the same item, contact me and I'll do my best to help you.
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.
If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, a refund will be sent to the gift giver and they will know about your return.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping/customs costs for returning your item. Please contact me for address details. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.
You should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. I don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item, and there can be no refund if I do not receive it.
Loss through the post (UK Royal Mail) or courier is not covered under my refund policy. If you would like tracked delivery or insurance, please specify at time of purchase. Please allow 14 working days if you are based in the UK or 35 working days if you are outside the UK. If after this time your item still has not arrived then please contact me to investigate.
